AMMAN & ASA Foundation Friendly Football Festival, West Sumbawa, Indonesia, 20-21 November 2022

20 December 2022

Supported by PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN), ASA Foundation implemented a Friendly Football Festival on 20 – 21 November, 2022 for 256 young professional footballers together with 80 boys and girls with and without disabilities from local middle schools across West Sumbawa, Indonesia.

The 2-day, inclusive festival, that was also supported by the West Sumbawa PSSI District Association and the West Sumbawa Government, was held at the Universitas Cordova football field in Taliwang, West Sumbawa.

Aligned to UN SDGs 3, 4, 5 and 10, the festival focused on developing important life skills information while promoting inclusion, diversity, gender equality and women empowerment for the male and female youth with and without disabilities. And by introducing special fair play rules to the festival matches, the friendly football matches educated and empowered the young professional footballers while improving their mental health and well-being together with social cohesiveness.

Furthermore, the festival is being used as a catalyst for AMMAN in supporting a professional football league development program in West Sumbawa which ASA Foundation plans to launch in early 2023!
