With the support of Beyond Sport and Sun Life, ASA Foundation continues to expand the Hoops+Health program, using basketball as a tool to promote healthy living, wellbeing, and positive development among young people across Asia.
In Indonesia, the program was implemented through the Hoops+Health Girls Academy at Beji Basketball Court, Depok. Over a six-month period, 30 young women under the age of 17 took part in regular basketball training that emphasized physical activity, confidence, teamwork, and mental wellbeing. The initiative created a safe and supportive space for girls to learn, grow, and stay active.
Hoops+Health also supported community basketball development by sponsoring six months of training for Flamingos Basketball Jakarta and Omnia Basketball Indonesia, reaching more than 60 youth participants through structured, health-focused sessions.
Beyond on-court activities, ASA Foundation delivered a series of online Hoops+Health workshops for teachers, coaches, schools, and community organizations across Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, and Hong Kong. These sessions aimed to strengthen local capacity by equipping educators and coaches with practical tools to promote healthy lifestyles through sport.
Through a combination of community programs and online training, Hoops+Health reached an estimated 20,000 youth beneficiaries across six countries in Asia, reinforcing ASA Foundation’s commitment to using sport as a platform for youth empowerment, inclusion, and long-term wellbeing.
