ASA Foundation recently completed another monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) visit to the Jawa Power & YTL Elite Youth Football for Good Academy in East Java, Indonesia.
The visit focused on strengthening coaching practices, supporting player development across the age groups, identifying emerging talent and helping build a stronger foundation for the academy’s future.
Highlights included:
- Coach Development – Working with the coaching team to strengthen training methods, session planning and player-centred development.
- Building Mental Resilience – Practical football challenges designed to develop composure, confidence, decision-making and the ability to respond under pressure.
- Identifying Future Talent – U14 player trials to identify promising young footballers and support the academy’s next stage of development.
- Engaging Parents – A positive Grassroots Football Parenting and Nutrition workshop, with parents actively contributing to discussions on how they can support young players’ wellbeing and development.
The visit also provided an opportunity to review the academy’s structure, training schedule, equipment and facilities, helping identify practical steps to improve the overall learning and playing environment.
At ASA Foundation, we believe football is about much more than the game. It is an opportunity to build character, develop life skills and help young people reach their potential, both on and off the pitch.
Thank you to Jawa Power and YTL for supporting this ongoing initiative, and to the coaches, players and parents who continue to be part of the journey.
We look forward to building on this progress together!
